The Boujad rug comes from the Berber people who speak the language of the Atlas Mountains. These Berber handmade carpets that you will find are crafted in a small village called Boujad in the Marrakech province of Morocco. They are known as "the marvelous creations" in the Berber language which means mountain sheep.
They were traditionally used to cover floors in the homes and they were decorated by local women using wool from their sheep's body. The women in the village now make and sell their unique and beautiful boujad Moroccan rug. all over the globe!
